NESHAMINY HIGH SCHOOL
CLASS OF 1959
50 YEAR REUNION

The 50th Reunion of the Class of 1959 was held on the weekend of Friday, April 24—April 26, 2009.
At the main event of the reunion weekend on Saturday evening, April 25, 2009, at Brookside Manor at Somerton Springs, an official class meeting was called to order by Earl Patterson, Class President.
The meeting began with the introduction of the guest teachers who were in attendance: Mr. William Macht, Mr. Peter Cordelli, Mr. Edwin Cunfer, and Mr. Vincent Hermanson and their wives, and Mrs. Joan Franks. A letter was read from Mr. John Petercuskie who could not attend but sent his regards and best wishes.
Acknowledgements were made to the reunion committee members with appreciation certificates presented to all. Special recognition was given to Charles Lauble for the CD’s and the DVD’s given to all classmates, to Jim Flanigan who has been the longest serving male on the reunion committee, and to Sue Hall DeCrescente for a lifetime service award for dedicated participation and leadership of the committee.
A scholarship is to be presented to Neshaminy High School, designated for a special needs student for higher education. The category of a special needs student was suggested by Evelyn Hunt White. Criteria for the scholarship included good citizenship, faculty recommendation, and guidance staff recommendation. The goal was to give $1,000 for the scholarship. A total amount of the 50/50 is to be divided with 50% going to the scholarship, 25% to the treasury and 25% to the winner of the 50-50 tickets sold at the reunion. The winner of the drawing was Joe Jennings who chose to donate back his winnings.
The class attendees were asked if the format of the reunion weekend should continue as is or to make changes. There was a unanimous response to continue in the same format.
A “non-reunion” get-together will be held in October with Burnell Brown and Jim Brunner coordinating the event. All classmates are to be notified of the date and details.
Additional recognition was given to George Fox for supplying the magnets that were sent to everyone and to Nancy Forrest Stockburger for supplying the table centerpieces and creating the Coke glass favors that were at every place setting. Nancy also provided a welcome banner which can be used at future events plus a welcome poster which was at the ballroom entrance.
The evening ended with the singing of the Alma Mater, led by Mrs. Joan Franks and Nancy Paul Lauersen.
  The meeting was then adjourned.
